This process produces no harmful greenhouse gases, eliminates the burning of fossil fuels, and significantly reduces its carbon footprint. In fact, it requires less than 1/10th of the energy needed for flame cremation, ensuring a more sustainable and thoughtful approach to honoring your beloved pet’s memory.

Pet Reflections is a local, family owned and operated business run by James Hughes-Lock and Kirstie Lovell. Our purpose is to change the way our community experiences pet loss by offering an environmentally friendly Pet Cremation service to our Gisborne Region. We are passionate about providing a kind and caring service and returning your pets back to you as quickly as possible. No longer do they need to travel out of town to be cremated.
Water Pet Cremation
Water cremation is a process called Alkaline Hydrolysis that uses a combination of gentle water flow, heat and alkalinity to breakdown the pet’s tissue. This process actually mimics the natural decomposition of a burial, but at an accelerated rate. At the end of the process all that remains is the pets’ bones which are processed into ‘ashes’
